Pros
Friendly co-workers, No micromanaged work requirements, opportunities for travel and genuinely being able to help people who need the technical assistance. Taking Support Desk calls (4 hours shifts) is actually a good thing, as it increases your knowledge base.
Cons
No real room for advancement/promotion, unless you work at the Houston (Greenspoint) offices. Not a great deal of feedback/communication from Supervisors regarding progress, other than pre-scheduled requirements (mid-year review, etc.) With current oil/gas recession, massive cutbacks to staffing, bonuses and raises, as well as equipment shortages, etc. Ticket tracking system is archaic and clumsy.
