Pros
Great teammates, meaningful work, and the organization overall is run efficiently and ethically (especially compared to other shelters and rescues). Leadership trusts you to get your work done. Opportunities for continuing education were also a plus. Benefits were overall pretty good as well. Animal welfare is a tough industry but this is one of the better places to work in this field
Cons
It’s very hard to move up or grow in this company, which unfortunately causes good people to leave. Leadership will play favorites with staff, and their bias towards certain animals in the shelter has impacted their outcomes. They are constantly changing the rules when it’s convenient for them, which leads to confusion and uncertainty for other staff members
