Pros
The only pro is that it's slightly cheaper (and I mean slightly, not a lot) than most top schools. And that it's closer to the west coast and hence silicon valley.
Cons
- The rate given to student workers is far less than most other colleges. - Positions for RA are extremely few. - TA is given only to Thesis students and not MCS even if they are over qualified for the job. - There is no work appreciation. - ASU as a college wants your money and has the system of Pre-requisites that no matter how well you do on a test out exam, they'll make you pay. - Lastly, bad news for students - It has the most pathetic course selection system in the world where you hardly ever get the courses you desire. Your MS is based on luck. Very few professors are good at what they do and you'll almost never get their courses on first try. You need to be extremely lucky. - Oh and the career fairs at ASU are utterly useless and a waste of time and energy
