Pros

A lot of great people, wonderful and excited students, a lot of school spirit in a great place to live.

Cons

The school is very focused on business and sports rather than academics. Very low pay for high-level teaching forces many to leave. Department budgets are tiny in comparison to sports and new building budgets ($300 Million for stadium renovations and no money/cuts for academics). Too much of the school's budget is spent on the football stadium/new buildings and too little on crucial teaching and research faculty. The ASU Board of Regents is heavily from the business-community and too little from the academic community. Their business goals are reflected in their monetary decisions.

Pros

A stable employer with a honorable mission -- to provide quality education to both exceptional and ordinary students. "Judge us by who we include and how they succeed."

Cons

Being a large employer, quite bureaucratic, and inflexible.
