A class system with impersonable management - Professional Ascend Performance Materials Employee Review

Pros

This is an integrated chemical processing site with some highly hazardous materials with on-site (deep well) disposal. The real estate is owned mostly by Ascend, but operating unites are owned by a mix of Ascend and other companies. Material is loaded/unloaded from rail, truck, and barge loading/unloading. It provides an immense opportunity to learn. There are some terrific individuals with good teaming skills.

Cons

Managers talk as if they care about all employees but the do NOT back it up with action. In fact quite the opposite. Management has evolved a subculture of arrogance and disingenuous respect toward workers at the lower end of the traditional organization structure. Shameful! The first sign of bias is evident by the fence bordering both sides of the sidewalk leading from the contractor parking area to the contractor gate. Remember, this is a highly hazardous plant. If something goes wrong, I'd want to be able to flee from the danger, without having to scale a fence. Beside, I don't like being treated like cows and pigs. Why does the employee parking area not have a similar fence? No excuses. Just fix it!!!
