Pros
Focus on community and the growth we've seen through a large number of acquisitions in a relatively short amount of time. Coworkers are great and small teams definitely have that family feel. The corporate office, as a whole, is quite diverse culturally.
Cons
Unfortunately, Ascend has always run very, very , very lean. This leads to a poor work/life balance, poor morale and quick burnout. Finding quality management seems to be an issue. There is a lot of turnover and no one is willing to fix the problem(s). Remember, people leave managers, not organizations! While the Corporate office is diverse, the leadership team is not. Still your standard gang of old white men. Women seem to have an extra hurdle to jump to get promoted or hired into higher positions.
