Pros
Interview process was with several people who asked good questions. They shared lots of information about the company along with improvements they were working on. Company has an empowering safety culture and employees freely report incidents without fear of retribution. Excellent reporting of personal safety issues and Process Safety Issues. Site Leadership is goal oriented and desires to strive for improvement-- they actively seek out issues/trends because they understand that only issues can lead to success and growth. Site has an excellent health wellness program. Upper management cares about its employees and the community with an internal employee charity program. Despite its larger size, the overall plant culture tends to be family oriented-- and much of this goes back to the Site Leadership Team. Company allows employees to award each other for good job performance along with a monetary incentive to the receiving employee (company paid) . Plant Manager is articulate and has excellent recall of details. Overall, an engaging place to work.
Cons
Improve communication about Site Leadership Team decisions/updates through an emailed employee news letter. Some employees feel there is little room for advancement-- but I have not been here long enough to experience this. Nested contractors perform important duties for the site.. and I think they need to be recognized in some way as well. Some of the office buildings need upgrades-- the cubicle systems do not always give employees the privacy that is needed at times. Building upgrades can improve morale.
