Pros

Free parking permits, snacks and drinks available, the new office is great, and for a while they did a great job of hiring fun people to be around and work with.

Cons

The biggest con at AskNicely unfortunately is it's leadership. The CEO is completely beyond his depth and it shows every day. From his poor decision making, the way he conducts a meeting (often running way over the scheduled time, sometimes by an hour just so he can talk more), and the things he decides to focus on for the business; it's clear that it's time to hand over the reins to a more equipped individual. He's been asked to step down by the board at least once already, so I am not sure what's taking them additional time to execute this highly needed action. Another unfortunate addition to the AskNicely family is the current "Chief Of Staff". This person is running some on the most important projects at the company and they have absolutely no experience. They have never worked at a software company, they have never worked at a company with direct customers (they were a lawyer and a consultant before), and this person appears to think they are always the smartest person in the room and pushes their very ill-informed agenda on what should happen. This person will argue with department heads that have extensive tenured experience and will believe they are more knowledgable, in an area they have never worked in. its a true shame they aren't taking the chance to learn something, rather than driving home their need to be right about everything. Recently the Cofounder and CTO stepped down. Unprompted, without giving a real reason...the person that built the software and company from the ground up. decided it was time to leave for "no reason in particular"...this may be everything you need to know about the remaining leadership. All this being said, the biggest glaring issues are that the culture preached is not practiced. They preach being "nice" but I have not seen much of this at all. Any form of "nice" from the leadership is phony and with an agenda. They preach a product that is "built for the customer" but, it is often cancelled because of the high price tag and the amount of difficulty in just getting the product up and running, let alone maintaining. This is a point solution posing as an enterprise suite. It's limited, and it will be phased out by larger, better built, feedback companies.

Pros

I started here recently, and have been overwhelmed by the positive and friendly reception I've received from the team. So far my experience has been incredibly wonderful, with an emphasis on collaboration and an overall drive to grow and move quickly. Benefits are uniquely amazing, including Nice Days and a yearly Work From Anywhere stipend. We are positioned to add a ton of positions this year, so growth potential is limitless~ I'm really excited for the future.

Cons

Since we're still in startup mode, we're still figuring things out. There aren't uniform processes set in place for everything yet, so if you struggle with a bit of ambiguity this might not be the right fit for you. However, if you love to figure things out, build processes and work together to discover best practices, this would be a great fit!
