Productivity is met with at best ambivilance and at worst scorn. Employees can work on the same bug fix for 6 straight months and no one cares. In fact what seems to be valued most is attending superfluous meetings (of which there are many) and never questioning anything. Assurant's position in the marketplace, which must be maintained through legislation rather than performance, makes it so productivity is irrelevant, thus making it akin to a government job, where the only thing required to collect a check is a heartbeat.
