They don’t care if you understand the job or not. - Customer Service Representative (CSR) Assurant Employee Review

Pros

Remote work. Good daytime hours. Equipment provided.

Cons

The training process is ridiculous. Depending on what group you get placed into, your job will be easy or unnecessarily difficult. For certain groups, you have to use highly complex, outdated software that takes a very long time to learn, and they don’t care if you understand or not. At the end of training, you’re getting on those phones to take calls. Ready or not. They literally told me it doesn’t matter if I give the customer incorrect information. Just get through the call. I don’t agree with that. No wonder it’s such a high turnover position. And crappy benefits.

Pros

Remote work across all lines of business allows for a flexible work environment

Cons

There is almost no opportunity for growth. The company laid off quite a few employees recently as part of a planned reduction in force while also reporting its highest quarterly earnings. There's no loyalty to tenured employees.
