Pros

100% Remote Work Base Pay is decent

Cons

Where do I begin? Astellas is falling behind other pharmaceutical and biotech companies because many employees have been there for over seven years, and they struggle to think outside the box and are overly focused on SOPs that leads to maintaining the status quo. Furthermore, the company's Ethics and Compliance practices are a significant hindrance and truly hasn't embodied intelligent risk taking, a stark contrast from other organizations Astellas refuses to adapt or consider changes, expecting the world to revolve around them. Additionally, many senior leaders do not value fresh perspectives. This is particularly baffling given the company's poor performance. These same leaders appear to believe its everyone else but them. Their arrogance actively stifles innovation and communication, prioritizing their own self-interest over the company's progress. The overall organizational structure is confusing, and there is no centralized global division, leading to fragility in operations. This confusion results in project duplication and inadequate work, largely due to nepotism—where the same outspoken individuals, often lacking substance, are repeatedly chosen for important projects. Astellas has lost its way, focusing solely on the bottom line, slashing budgets, and neglecting patient needs. The situation has deteriorated to the point where many senior leaders believe that returning or proactively implementing budget cuts is more valuable than ensuring that work and projects are completed, Which negatively impact patients in need of treatment. If the job market weren't so challenging, there would definitely be mass attrition, as many employees are completely dissatisfied with the company.
