The overall organizational structure is confusing, and there is no centralized global division, leading to fragility in operations. This confusion results in project duplication and inadequate work, largely due to nepotism—where the same outspoken individuals, often lacking substance, are repeatedly chosen for important projects. Astellas has lost its way, focusing solely on the bottom line, slashing budgets, and neglecting patient needs. The situation has deteriorated to the point where many senior leaders believe that returning or proactively implementing budget cuts is more valuable than ensuring that work and projects are completed, Which negatively impact patients in need of treatment.
