Pros
The work: Asurion is a great place to work, especially for creatives. Because Asurion has so many different clients, the variety of opportunities for marketing and creative professionals are tremendous. Projects on the creative team are diverse and wide-ranging, from crafting a welcome email for new customers to developing a campaign to highlight a new product launch. Very similar to working in an ad agency. Employment: Asurion welcomes all manner of employees from all walks of life. We have a very diverse work force. I have an extremely visible disability but Asurion hired me in spite of it. Sure workplace discrimination is not legal, but many employers (and people) do it, sometimes without realizing it. Not so at Asurion. Opportunities for advancement are strong because the company has had great growth and is more than willing to promote from within. Benefits: Asurion pay is on par with similar positions in the region. Health care options are phenomenal—employees select from more than 10 options and all major insurance carriers. There are no hard rules about PTO (paid time off). In fact, it’s not limited by corporate policy, only subject to your manager’s approval. How cool is that?
Cons
Traffic density in Northern Virginia makes the commute long and tedious. The open work spaces (cubes and pods) can be challenging to work in when you need to concentrate or are on a conference call. And the sheer growth of the company can make some work weeks a bit chaotic, like drinking from a fire hose.
