Pros

Good compensation and last minute monetary incentives. I love patients and famies there, very respectful. Rural athmosphere.

Cons

Staff is unwelcoming, few introduce themselves to you when you start working there. I've said: "Hi. I'm..." to be cut off with:" Hi, I'm leaving." The overall feeling is that they are unhappy to work there and charge nurses overload patients on the backs of newcoming nurses. Worse part is that health care techs sit and chat in a nook and only help those staff nurses they are friends with while neglecting their assignments. When confronted, they are passive aggressive. Charge nurses do not lead or reprimand them. They also sit in circles and chat with their friend nurses while travel RNs and part timers do the rest. The exception are two male nurse supervisors who are fair and professional. Disappointing hostile culture in an otherwise friendly rural town.
