Pros
Atto is a fast-paced environment, which is pretty much what you’d expect from the quantitative trading firm. The bar is high, but your output actually matters, and I personally like it.
You’re expected to actually understand what you’re doing and why, not just blindly do what you’ve been told. You get involved in real discussions early, and there’s quite a bit of responsibility from the start. It’s really great for learning, but maybe not for people who prefer a “doer-by-instruction” type of setup.
The team is sharp and very driven, but also easy to work with. Colleagues and management are easy to get in touch with, and usually happy to share context or constructively push back on ideas. It’s pretty straightforward, without too much unnecessary stuff getting in the way, which is a big plus.
There’s a pretty clear link between what you do and how you’re rewarded, so compensation is competitive if you perform.
Cons
The pace can get intense and priorities shift quite a bit, it takes some time to get used to that.
