Pros
- Free concert tickets, NBA games, and amusement park passes. - Had some supportive coworkers / bosses. Honestly, the best part that kept me from going totally insane was our department. - Fun events. I always loved working our events. - Casual office life; no dress code. - Office alcohol & fun office parties - Great resume builder with plenty of opportunity to learn as long as you're willing to initiate the right conversation with the right people. - Most of the LA team are wonderful people. When things got tough, it was nice to not feel alone; to have someone to talk to because they also felt that heavy weight on their shoulders when the environment got too toxic.
Cons
- LACKS DIVERSITY. Audacy tries to be diverse, but it's not genuine at all. It's incredibly offensive to the hard working POC at the company when Audacy tries to be diverse to check a box. It doesn't feel heartfelt or genuine at all. - There's a lot of people who don't know what they are doing. Towards the end of my time at Audacy, I noticed plenty of people hired who were incompetent and lacked the skill and experience to do do their job with quality. - Audacy also promotes these incompetent employees over tenured staff who have been there for years and are actually capable of the role. Also, it doesn't look good when these incompetent employees are caucasian, and the people they are "beating" for the promotion are POC. Yikes! - Incredibly terrible pay for the amount of work. This doesn't just happen to mid-level employees, they've severely underpaid on-air staff at legacy stations. My MALE coworker with the same job title & job description as I was making 7K more than I was. And it was like pulling teeth to get me to the same rate as he. This was one of my breaking points. - Employees were so overworked and underpaid. I often saw my part-time colleagues pulling all-nighters; getting treated like roaches. Because they were capped at 29 hours, they couldn't put all that overtime on their timesheets. I also got pneumonia after being overworked & mentally drained. - Audacy fosters a toxic environment where employees are often afraid to go home early due to mental strains, or stay home when they are sick. They guilt trip you into working, despite feeling stressed out. Other Cons: - Nepotism - Toxic atmosphere - Controlling corporate management who are incredibly disconnected - Low Morale - Firing good people for no reason aka the KROQ morning show :( - Some people were so uncultured, it hurt the brand. Especially the LA brand. LA is so diverse but when there are people who don't understand culture, it looks really bad.
