Pros
Really great people. My team is especially good, of course that's always luck of the draw. But I work on a lot of different teams across the company and the experiences are almost always positive. I can't say that for every company I've worked for, even in the first year. The benefits package is pretty flexible and provides a lot of options. For digital at least, they offer unlimited vacation. That can be a double edged sword, depending on your company and boss of course. On my team, there's no issue so it's worked out great. If you're on the corporate side and even mid-level, you like get exposure to executive leadership, so the company feels less big and unwieldy than some other larger media companies.
Cons
The company's ongoing financial struggles need to be better addressed across the company. They don't have a transparent plan for employees to reassure them. There does seem to be bloat in upper management which is both expensive and makes things confusing. As noted, the unlimited vacation can be a double edged sword. The handbook specifically says you must be available when using it, which is BS. I can see how some managers would abuse that, so be forward that you WILL use it when you're hired and make a point to do so.
