Pros

Ability to work from home when needed, opportunity, learning

Cons

This company has a long way to go as far as how they treat their employees. They try to sell themselves on the 'family' atmosphere, however, they have become blind to how to treat the people who were not the original twenty who started together. They seem to protect the original 'gang' and sweep things under the rug for them or let them get away with treating others like crap or allowing them to put minimal to no effort to helping out their team/employees/department. They say that they have an open door policy, however, that is and has been held against you and used against you in your review!! That is NOT the way an open door policy works. You cannot expect your employees to open up and confide in you and then you go and tell their supervisor/boss/manager or other high level what they said. I have had a manager take credit for my work without even a thank you for putting the effort in and completely bypass any and all work I did. I watched a very high level manager disrespect and bypass my manager and myself and keep a lot of information from the team.

Pros

Met some absolutely lovely people, was excited to work for previous management when hired

Cons

Recently, Auto/Mate was acquired by a much, much larger company called DealerSocket. While they've done everything they can to say nothing will change, unfortunately I don't believe you spend the (rumored) kind of money DS did to not make changes. This was a once fun, family-like company that will soon be wrung of all it's charms in place of a much more sterile, corporate approach. After reading most of the reviews, I can vouch for a few things. There are a lot of people at this company who have been doing what they do for a very long time. I think there is going to be reckoning of old school seniority meeting new school "what have you done for me lately" approach that values productivity over all other metrics. The Auto/Mate of the last 30 years or so is no longer what you will be applying to or seeing reviews of. Going forward, I don't know how many of these testimonials really apply. It has become a different company, and one I wish I was made aware of prior to joining the company.
