Pros
They do pay you. They've got that going for them. Generally, you can get 40 hours without too much trouble. It is very much legitimately satisfying to help someone really and truly making their day better.
Cons
Boy do they hate rewarding hard work. You stayed an extra 6 hours today because someone called in? You worked a 15 hour shift with a single, half-hour break? That's great. Thanks. We're just gonna cut you 6 hours some other day so you don't get overtime. You're seriously not allowed to take tips. I don't get paid enough to spend 6 hours a day outside in blistering heat and humidity (other elements notwithstanding) only to be told that I can't take someone's grateful few moist dollar bills and bye myself a drink. Yeah, right. I would have to agree with many people berating the WITTDTJR system as a pointless upselling scam. I feel horrible charging someone over a dollar for less than a ketchup packet's worth of petroleum jelly. Or little felt rings. Oh god, the paperwork. Just no. Oh, look! It looks like you have been chosen for a raise and a promotion. Enjoy! Enjoy your transfer to another store 45 minutes away, sans both the perks. Ouch. Seriously? That first one bears repeating. But my hands hurt because of ... well, just read the first one again.
