Pros
I can't think of a single one, except that there is a meager paycheck involved.
Cons
Very low pay for even an unskilled position, but this one requires extensive knowledge and responsibility. You have to buy your own uniforms, which they describe as a "dress code" so as to not have to supply them. You are responsible to not only be an expert on automotive systems and parts, but all of the retail crap they offer. You have to listen to clients continuously gripe about the quality of Duralast parts, how slow the service is due to understaffed locations, and how terrible and unqualified all of the non-management employees are. Tragically, these are all valid complaints. This position encompasses all of the responsibilities of a Store Manager except hiring, but without the title or pay. I was doing this work in 2019 for $15.25 and hour, in an area where that barely constitutes a starvation wage. One day I asked myself why that was, couldn't think of a good answer, and parted company,
