Pros
1. Entry level Service Job that involves phone skills and computer database, skill which qualify for similar but much higher paying jobs. 2. If you enjoy helping pleasing others and solving problems for them, the job is meaningful. 3. Climate controlled store. 4. The company seems to screen out mean/jerk type people with their personality test, as far as I can tell they hire nerdy/spineless underachievers who are desperate for money or lack the self esteem to bargain for higher wages. No meanies = less stress and drama.
Cons
1. Treats employees like robots, scheduling them randomly every week. The practice shaves labor costs but seriously disrupts workers' lives and commitments. 2. Badgers employees to "up-sell" items or else....3. Does not care to properly train new employees, inconveniences customers with training, burdens fellow employees with training new employees. 4. Has a paranoid corporate culture which is insulting to employees. 5. Motivates with threats and consequences only, no positive methods/incentives of motivating employees. 6. Rewards upper management with bonuses for enforcing up sell among the hourly employees. 7. Cuts hours and expects more productivity to ensure bonus for upper management. 8. Store is understaffed to save on labor costs, can lead to lost sales and customer dissatisfaction. 9 Stores look dirty and employees look worn out, their "dress code" stained and floors stained from lack of upkeep-- only 30 minutes devoted to closing at night, including janitorial work. 10. Parts are re-badged with Generic store brands, makes the products seem cheap and generic.
