Pros

Good products. Good functionality. Progressive.

Cons

I have been employed at Autodesk in sales for 2 years and I feel compelled to bring attention to an issue that I was made aware of by my colleagues. Autodesk upholds the principle of treating everyone equally and doesn't tolerate any form of bullying or harassment. Unfortunately, my recent learnings have led me to question this commitment. While at Autodesk , I had interacted with a sales rep in her 40s/50s (unsure) who was from the Midwest region. She was helpful and dedicated yet, to my surprise, she abruptly left Autodesk last month. Despite being a recipient of multiple awards during her time at Autodesk, I learned thru the grapevine, she was literally pushed out by her superiors, citing age and/or personal reasons, It was disheartening to learn from multiple people that she was subjected to daily bullying and harassment and criticized and embarrassed in front of her team by her manager. I attempted to reach out to her for further clarification, however my efforts were unsuccessful. Do you blame her based on the circumstances??!! I am troubled by the fact that this bullying behavior was known within the company yet no action was taken to address it. This raises concerns about the discrepancy between Autodesk's stated values and the actual treatment of employees by their managers. As a company that advocates for equality and respect, it is disappointing to learn that such actions go unchecked. I urge Autodesk C-level executives to reflect on upholding the principles they stand behind and take measures to ensure a safe environment for all employees. Why wouldnt these managers be held accountable for how they treated her...she didn't seem to deserve this treatment. Shame on you Autodesk.

Pros

The individual contributors, your peers you work with day in and day out are fantastic people! At the IC level, for the most part, it feels like everyone is in the fight together. The work/life balance is good depending on which business unit/team you're aligned with. The benefits are pretty solid, especially the 6 week sabbatical.

Cons

Autodesk moves at the pace of a snail, very slow to take action on anything. Selling is very difficult with all the undocumented approvals, processes, red tape and very few people are willing to actually help! Leadership doesn't care about the people their decisions impact. Feedback is rarely listened to and acted upon. Pay is terrible compared to competitors in this space. Autodesk has embraced a ton of change over the last few years with new marketing, sales and IT leadership and it shows. They are not shy in showing their desire to be the next Oracle at the expense of their people. They are constantly changing tools, processes, people, roles, you name it so you feel like you're under water constantly. Lipstick on a pig.
