Pros
-Depending on the department, managers can be very encouraging and empowering of their reports. My team in particular, I am given freedom within my role that I've never experienced before, and that has given me more room to grow and shine - and my successes are openly appreciated. -Work with diverse and talented employees that take their jobs seriously. -Everyone is invested in the future of the company. -Always new opportunities to innovate and pivot in this fast moving and ever changing business. -I feel comfortable approaching anyone in the company, at any level. -Cross-functional relationships happen easily and happily.
Cons
-It's a pre-IPO tech start-up. It's busy. It's demanding. Know that going into it to see if it is for you. It is not unheard of to work late nights - but you also can create your own schedule on most days. That said, Work/Life Balance doesn't exist in most departments - and it just can't right now. And yes, you can understand and accept this fact and it still be a "con." -HR isn't always as transparent with their decisions as I feel they should be. -Plans and processes are rolled out before being fully fleshed out, causing everyone to be reactive and allow for error.
