Pros

-Remote work. Corporate roles are 100% remote and will remain so - no return to office. The company also hosts in-person events for teams by area so for example if you are in Los Angeles, you will meet with people in that market from a lot of different teams for happy hour or other events. It's small but nice to make those connections when you're used to working on your own most of the time. -Flexibility. Whether you love to travel, prioritize fitness or volunteer work, or have a busy home life - you are supported to do your best work when & where it suits you. -Unlimited PTO. People can and do take a minimum of 2 weeks, or even more from what I've seen. There is support from both managers & team members to truly unplug. -Paid family leave. 8 weeks paid parental leave after 9 months of employment. Not many companies offer this so if it's something in your future, this is very valuable. -Culture & values. The company has four values (HERO: Hungry, Excellent, Resilient, Open]. In my experience, the majority of employees demonstrate these values which make them great coworkers, whether it's someone you work with every day or someone on another team you ping for a random question.

Cons

These aren't negatives, just things to be aware of. This company isn't a fit for everybody, but if you are aware of the full picture & have buy-in, you will succeed. -High performance start-up culture. The standards for everyone's work is high no matter what department you're in. This requires the employee to be proactive and have the desire & drive to achieve. This is a true start-up where thinking creatively & collaboratively will be recognized & rewarded, but you have to put in above-average effort to achieve. This does not mean working crazy hours, however; there is still work/life balance, but it could mean that you are able to take off time daily for daycare pick-up & drop-off but have to log in later in the evening to wrap up. *If you are okay with this work style this will be a great fit for you!* -Compensation & benefits. Salaries are average, with good contribution from the company for healthcare benefits. Your salary may not be as high as it would be at other larger and/or more developed companies, but this is a start up. Part of compensation is the option for employee equity, which has great value in the long term but may not be a fit if a higher cash salary is your priority. -Restructuring. Like many companies, AvantStay underwent a series of layoffs in the past year. This was unfortunately very common, especially in tech-focused & hospitality industries. The company has started to grow again, and in all-company meetings, leadership has been transparent about the long-term stability with no more reductions planned. The note here is that it was difficult for a lot of people - both those that lost their jobs as well as the people who worked through that period. My impression from people who were here during that hard time is one of optimism for the future.

Pros

I’ve been with the company since I started

Cons

Houses need more attention given to them as a maintenance person before I used to walk the houses when guest checked out and we stayed on top of the houses a little more than than we do now. Seems like some people just walk through the house and lock it up and go home. Meanwhile there’s faucets loose doorhandles loose stuff falling apart and the AAs are not catching this on the other side, we have work orders that are not getting done properly. The first time I’ve never been a vendor and had a company make up my hourly rate and being on call I’m waiting for work and maybe only getting a job a day doesn’t really pay our bills as maintenance people because we have to keep up on insurance not only that but gasoline because we’ll go to some of the houses 2 to 3 times a day because of the way, the work orders come in we could’ve already been at a house and then we’re getting sent back to the house for another case to do
