Pros
You do get a lot of freedom with this job, we did not have a home office so morning meetings were done from home, you would then head into market and conduct inspections and other tasks throughout the day.
Cons
There was almost no work like balance with this position. Though you do get more freedoms than most jobs because you work mostly solo, you also have to be available 24/7 for homeowners, guests, and colleagues. They have “on-call” shifts which are 5-9pm and usually one person would do an on call shift 1-2 times a week. Though you may end up doing things outside of work hours regardless if you are scheduled on call or not. The company is very disorganized and seems to make every system/ procedure for doing things far harder than it needs to be. There also was a lack of transparency on when we would receive our bonuses after the new year (we were told one date and then that date passed with no bonus payout and no communication from any leadership). Guests were able to call or text you (not on personal number but still goes right to your phone) at any time of the day or night AvantStay has very high expectations for what we will provide to guests and these requests are ultimately always handled by the AAMs no matter how far reaching the request may be. I have been asked to make dinner reservations for a guest before. Overall I just would say this position is a lot to take on and K found my self often questioning if the amount of work I was doing was worth the pay rate for the position, and ultimately I left the company due to how intense and overwhelming it is. It wasn’t for me personally but I have seen several colleagues of mine who thrive in the role so just think before applying or accepting a position!
