Pros

Many sincere staff who care about Biblical values and sharing Christ with young children. Many children have their faith strengthened by this ministry.

Cons

Deeply disturbed by the lack of integrity in Awana's President MM and his core senior leadership. And for many years now. The story doesn't change. The critiques of leadership on this site are tragically true - manipulation, gaslighting, overt good old boys club, scapegoating, demeaning and devaluing of their female leadership . . . The hypocrisy of making your team read books like Lead Like Jesus and then the same senior leader turns around and sets up subordinates for failure so that they can move their own agendas and "favorite buddies" forward.. At best, this leadership is immature, and manipulative. It's tragic seeing so many followers who love Jesus devalued by a ministry.

Pros

I can't say enough good things about working at Awana. The staff are incredibly friendly, relational, and delightful to work with. The leadership team has a compelling vision for the future of the organization and commitment to the mission of child discipleship. The reach of the organization has grown exponentially in recent years and has no sign of slowing down. God is at work in and through Awana. I hope you can join the team and contribute to this remarkable mission and team.

Cons

I cannot think of any cons to working at Awana. The culture is highly positive and the team is remarkable!

Pros

I had a great experience working there. Despite being a big company there were lots of ways to stay connected to leadership.

Cons

Remote first work isn’t for everyone!
