Pros

Stable paycheck that wont change much. Health insurance increases wipe out any annual wage increase you receive but shouldnt make less* generally people in company are nice

Cons

99% of department leadership is literally within 2 years of retirement. Nothing wrong with that generally speaking and good for them, However they can obviously no longer perform at sustainable levels of productivity and disapear during heavy labor situations and most important of all......do not have ANY long term stake in the departments outcome or survival let alone individuals career hopes or interest. Leadership does not perform the task of training new hires so the guys with the same title and wage as the new hire has too and is because they physically cannot or don't want to. They wouldn't have jobs if this were properly acknowledged. What do they care? They all gone in a year and this falls directly onto poor management from the top. Hiring mechanics with ZERO previous manufacturing experience whatsoever to build one of the most sophisticated machines on earth. (some unable to identify difference between very common hand tools) is dangerous and egregious. Slowly disintegrating work load as manager didn't want to deal with sending guys on the road so he gave it to a foreign team who does it cheaper which permanently effects the company negatively for his short term lack of interest. Overall sense that when manager retires the department is all done.

Pros

Can be very accommodating for time off if and when needed. Decent benefits as well.

Cons

Multiple stacks of management. Huge politics involved throughout higher management, especially in Manufacturing. No real track of progression or a place to grow within the company. Management does not reward hard work and beats around the bush once comes time to Salary Planning.
