Pros
I just left a role at Axon after working there for a little over four years.
It is such a phenomenal place to work at, and I would highly recommend it to anyone!
Among my favorites as an employee:
- The mission.
Founded to stop lethal force, and grown to also focus on bringing transparency into law enforcement, and strengthening the relationship between law enforcement and communities. This mission-focus can really be felt on a day-to-day basis, and the company is very much lead by it. If you want to do fun work AND do some good while doing it, this is a great place!
- The people.
It is most likely an outcome of the first point, but Axon has attracted a whole lot of positive, passionate, diverse, and extremely skilled people. You will be able to work with and learn from the top of the crop at Axon, and can have lots of fun while doing so.
- Leadership.
Axon has just incredibly strong leaders at the top. Aside from being great at what they do (you might find that at other companies), they really excel at integrity, mission-focus, and approachability (Most of the top leaders have 1:1s open to anyone within the company, and really value employee feedback even outside of those!)
Cons
It's not a FAANG, so while progress has been made, not everything will be as well defined or large in scope as it might be at some bigger companies.
