Pros

Free coffee Free snacks There are some really kind, smart, and good people who work here.

Cons

The company is designed to be as mechanical and bureaucratic as possible, with a prioritization being placed on limiting expenses. Historically this has always been extremely profitable for a business, but an ancillary result of that is a terrible work environment for employees. For example, the company spends as little as possible on its HR and IT departments, causing them to be the worst in the country. For anyone who questions the authenticity of the voluminous bad reviews on glass door, please also review the company responses to the bad reviews. The company responses (provided by a SVP no less) offer invaluable insight into the extent to which Axos actively endorses its abusive and unprofessional work culture and work environment.

Axos Bank Response

As a response to your comment, it's important to consider the twin purposes of our company, which are printed on page 5 of the Axos Philosophy booklet that is shared with every team member when they join. To summarize, our first purpose is to create unmatched, long-term value for our shareholders. Our second purpose is to create a desirable environment that inspires our exceptional team members to devote their time, talents and passion to us. Do we prioritize limiting expenses? Absolutely. We spend and invest wisely, as any well-run business should. We do this because our first purpose is to create value for our shareholders -- a group that comprises most of our team members. As shareholders, these team members appreciate our constant efforts to deliver value. If by bureaucratic you mean we put a premium on identifying and following set processes and procedures that allow us to succeed in the highly regulated industries in which we operate, then, again, we're guilty as charged. At Axos, it's only by providing superior, long-term returns without undue risk that we can attract the capital that makes our business possible. One way we minimize risk is by identifying, documenting and following processes and procedures that comply with relevant laws/regulations. We wouldn't have it any other way. We're a little confused as to how our responses to reviews could be seen as proof of a culture that's abusive and unprofessional. For starters, our culture is the opposite of that. Mostly what we're trying to do in these responses is provide facts so that reasonable people can judge for themselves. Hope you find what you're seeking.
