Pros
Benefits are generally good, although they've been declining. Pay packages can be good providing you fight hard when you join and then continue fighting throughout to stop them being eroded. There are some talented people around but they are the exception and there is a strong sense of a company that used to be good but has since lost its way.
Cons
Unimpressive and largely invisible leadership. Lacking sense of what the company's unique offering should be. Several product lines used to be strong a few years ago, only for the competition to have caught up and overtaken. Overburdened by hefty processes, and by a systemic fear to delegate decision-making over even minor budgetary expenditure. Training is only paid lip-service, and it's often a battle to get line managers to release staff and think long term about their development. Incredibly poor at absorbing outside thinking and interacting with different working cultures. Just look at the unfeasibly long, ongoing struggles integrating acquired Danish and US companies into the company's parochial Guildford mindset.
