Great work life balance but they constantly promote inexperienced staff and they don't treat their contractors well - Human Resources BAE Systems Employee Review

Pros

Flexible smart work policy (core hours 10am-2pm and 12pm finish on Fridays), home-working, obviously contractors don't get any other benefits but I believe employees get good discounts on mobile phones, shops, cinema tickets, etc. Salaries are fairly competitive and so is the bonus structure.

Cons

Lengthy on-boarding process. They don't treat their contractors very well and they are always seen as 'just contractors' although the company always deny this. I feel that the company would rather advertise new vacancies externally to attract new staff rather than look at their current resources internally. It can be a very cliquey place to work, particularly within HR. I have seen instances time and time again where the company have taken on far too junior people in far too senior roles and have promoted staff who are absolutely not ready for a management position.

Pros

There is a lot of opportunities for promotion if you stay the course and stand out a strong candidate.

Cons

Depending on the program you are working for, the work load can be overwhelming at times.
