Pros
Bags of potential, the right people, in the right markets and in an industry where they should fly. Sadly missed opportunities.
Cons
An obsession with cost cutting has degraded the business potential in every possible way. Simple operational tasks waste time at every turn, the agility and can do attitude of the business has all but vanished, replaced with a downtrodden acceptance that nothing will get done because every project large or small will be bogged down in nightmarish levels of administrative overhead which has led to budget overruns and deadlines disappearing over the horizon. The business has slowed to a crawl, all aspirations of the quality in years gone by seems to have gone. Morale in the part of the business I worked in was absolutely rock bottom by the time I left and I hear has, somehow, gotten worse since then. Looming redundancies, staff who know their necks are on the chopping block sworn into NDA and a rampant rumor mill has become the norm. Dubious agreements keep getting signed with third parties/outsourcers/trusted partners who underperform at every hurdle, drain the business of money, time and energy but yet somehow continue to get duffle bags of money passed their way.
