Pros
- Great people to work with, some real experts, especially in the data analytics and data management space - Some great opportunities to get involved in lots of different things and gain a breadth of experience, although you have to push for the opportunities yourself - Some really interesting work, if you get on the right project there are some less generic projects that aren't your run-of-the-mill consulting projects - Real feeling that things are being taken seriously and improving at the moment, especially internally - BAE Systems acquisition: could bring with it some great opportunities
Cons
- Career development is still very much driven by the individual, which is great if you know how to push for opportunities but not so good for people who are new or are not interested in taking responsibility for their career path - Salary reviews and promotions have a rigorous process around them but there is still a strong element of who you know and what you've been working on - Internal systems need a lot of improvement. There is clearly a lot of effort on improving them at the moment and things are getting better, but they whilst some of the systems were probably fine for when the company had less than 500 employees, they just haven't scaled very well - BAE systems acquisition: where will it take us?
