Pros
Has a good reputation as an employer. Great if you are a skilled engineer or project manager. Exciting products and proud when you see a ship complete and being handed over to the Navy.
Cons
Working in a political goldfish bowl makes it difficult to do your job sometimes. Constant changing goalposts. Benefits are not strong enough for a modern plc company. Holidays too rigid. Managers are a tough position to be in as you get squeezed from above and below and the rewards are not as good as you would get elsewhere.
