BAE Systems E&IS is a mixed bag when it comes to first jobs (as it was for me). It can be a good place, but not always. - Senior Systems Engineer BAE Systems USA Employee Review

Pros

-Good benefits. -Pay is competitive (assuming you did a good job negotiating your starting salary...don't screw this up!) -Coworkers are down to earth and willing to help.

Cons

-The pace is really slow. -The way management handles R&D is...questionable. Funding does not seem to reach the "right" people in the right amounts, and there is constant fiddling back and forth about how much of your granted money can be spent and when...it's already been granted, yet they don't want you to spend it at your own pace? I can understand that they don't want you to waste stupidly, but sometimes, it just doesn't make sense from an engineering POV. -Too much management overhead!!!

Pros

My pros are my manager and team coworkers. Outside of that not really a fan. I do well at what I do.

Cons

Honestly, ever since new management has come for the upper VPs and directors, a lot has shifted for the negative. Feels very micromanaging when we were told we were doing fine at home and there was no reason to have us come back in the office. Now suddenly we’re being forced back to the office. Other departments and I don’t really get along because there’s a bunch of petty people just trying to get others in trouble and all I’m doing is trying to do my job. Where I am at, everyone just talks all day and then complains about how much work they have.
