Pros

Work life balance is good. Stable, and mostly well-managed company. Pay is competitive, and sometimes exceeds similar companies. Benefits are still pretty good but, like many companies, have eroded somewhat over the years. People are very pleasant and many are quite talented.

Cons

BD is trying to reinvent itself as a cutting edge pharma-tech company, when it truly is just another old-school medical device/diagnostics company. They struggle to innovate in- house, and are turning towards acquisitions to fill the pipeline, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Like a lot of other companies, Opportunities to grow professionally are based not so much on what you know, but who you know, in this heavily matrixed organization. If you are not one of "the chosen", you will only go so far, before you will need to leave. Noticeable trend towards filling some roles based on youth/ethnicity, depending on what region is being targeted for growth.

Pros

Good PTO and benefits. Work load is manageable but the company is going through a business transformation process which could increase workload to maximize efficiency.

Cons

Work life balance decreased steadily over the years with not a lot of room for growth within FP&A. Many roles were BPO’d out.
