Pros

Remote Home Office Opportunity to support clients Friendly coworkers who genuinely want to help one another

Cons

Leadership lacked clear communication and consistent direction. Training and onboarding were disorganized, making it difficult to understand expectations. Frequent changes in priorities and processes created unnecessary confusion. Employees were often evaluated on expectations that had not been clearly communicated. Departments did not always appear to be aligned, resulting in inconsistent guidance and decision-making. Attempting to get help was often frustrating, as employees frequently seemed just as confused. Emails and support tickets sometimes took a week or longer to receive a response.

Thank you for taking the time to share a reflection on your experience as a Client Success Consultant. We’re grateful for the years you invested in serving clients and supporting your teammates, and we appreciate the care you clearly still have for the people and the work. We take your feedback seriously, particularly around managerial support, support tickets and onboarding. The CSC role sits at the center of the client and contractor experience, and we recognize that carrying a large portfolio and navigating complex situations can be taxing without the right level of support and resourcing. Your comments reinforce the importance of ensuring our teams feel equipped, heard, and supported in the work they do every day. Your observations about leadership priorities and goals are important as well. As we continue to evolve as an organization, we are actively evaluating how we create clearer pathways for advancement, strengthen leadership stability, and ensure compensation and career progression remain competitive and sustainable. Thank you again for sharing your perspective with such honesty and professionalism. We’re grateful for the contributions you made during your time with BELAY and wish you continued success in your career and the next season ahead. Warmly, The BELAY Team

Pros

Somewhat Flexible Work from Home

Cons

Low Pay Clients pay Belay $50-$60/hr for Virtual Assistant but they don't know that Belay is only paying the VA $20/hr so they expect $60 attention. High expectations and desired attention for very low pay. VA's are in contract with Belay. So if one of their engagements want them to work for them to work for them full time outside of Belay they have to buy out the VA'a contract with Belay that could be up to $20k. If the engagement can't afford to do that they have to wait 2 years after their contract and after the VA's contract ends with Belay.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for partnering with BELAY. We’re glad to hear that the opportunity to work remotely was a positive part of your journey, as flexibility and access to meaningful work are foundational to our model. We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding compensation. Client needs and scope of work vary widely, and those factors directly influence role expectations across engagements. BELAY’s role is to thoughtfully match contractors with clients whose needs, complexity, and investment align with the contractor’s experience and preferences, while also providing support beyond placement alone. Our model is designed to reduce many of the challenges independent contractors face by handling client acquisition, vetting, matching, contracts, invoicing, and collections, allowing contractors to focus on delivering excellent work rather than managing backend logistics. That said, we recognize that compensation expectations evolve and that market conditions continue to change. We regularly review the pay rate of our contractors to ensure it reflects both client demand and the value our contractors bring. Contractors are also encouraged to bring any concerns regarding their pay rate directly to their BELAY Talent Specialist. We’re grateful for your feedback and for your partnership with BELAY. Input like this helps inform ongoing improvements as we work to create sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships for both contractors and clients. Warmly, The BELAY Team
