Feels like family - Security Guard BEST Crowd Management Employee Review

Pros

Made numerous friends and it is a great work culture. Management honestly cares if there is a personal issue or otherwise and tries different ways to help you out. Being there for nationally televised events and being able to tell friends you witnessed something in person is also a plus. If you're looking for excitement and a positive work culture, BEST is great.

Cons

Can get a little hard on the legs.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your experience with BEST! We are so thrilled that you have found a team that you consider family here. BEST definitely also takes pride in the large amount of high-profile events and venues we get to cover. Please always feel free to communicate with your account management team if you are ever in need of an additional break or any concerns. Thank you so much for your review!

Pros

There are job advancement opportunities if you work there long enough.

Cons

The initial red flag I notice in orientation was how much profit was emphasized in orientation/training. Which played out to be on brand because the major concern was getting people to post rather than an emphasis on actual job training. A new hire who’s never worked a large event…. Doesn’t matter…. Get them to post. And as you can imagine, issues arise and someone’s going to get chewed for it. There isn’t a true concern about having a good product just putting bodies in a spot to fulfill a staffing order. There aren’t concise and well thought out plans for actually solving issues, it’s typically a figure it out without compromising the bottom line approach. There isn’t much of a “let’s figure this out together” and move forward mentality. Many grew their careers within the BEST bubble, which does show availability of career growth but on the flip side there isn’t much diversity of thought on attacking opportunities/issues. Much more of a let’s do what we’ve always done and hope for the ‘best’ and a sigh of relief if things go well and a witch hunt when the obvious high probability thing happens. A work day feels like battling complacency, tight budgets, and cliquey behavior.
