Pros

You are lazy and don't want to contribute anything meaningful to the world and you work at BMC then you can coast forever.

Cons

This company once had a great vision to build products for IT. But over the past 5-7 years has lost all its direction. Every year there is a new class of executives that come in and graduate. They make money and leave the company worse than how they inherited it. All big acquisitions have been marginalised. No innovation; Just continued lipstick on the pig. Employees are treated unfairly when it comes to roles, responsibilities, compensation. Even post-privatization, the focus is on rebranding and not reinventing. Business has been on a decline for over 10-15 years. Executives are paid for a soft landing and not for delivering new products etc. No modern technologies in use. You spend more time working across time zones. Most projects are split across 3+ time zones that will take a huge toll on productivity and work-life balance. You are better off working somewhere else.

Pros

They hardly ever fire anyone.

Cons

They hardly ever fire anyone. Comp plan is terrible. You get paid on Opportunities sources but there isn't any criteria written down on what makes a discovery call turn into an opportunity. Leading them to cherry-pick deals and choose if you get paid or not. They don't have product market fit. The entire new logo space didn't close anything last year. Getting placed in a good, high paying seat is all dependent upon nepotism. No clear path for growth. Constantly moving the goal post and changing promotion criteria. The promotion path leads you to a role that has historically not closed a deal and the role is a huge pay cut for some BDR's leading to high churn or career BDR's.
