Pros

- decent pay for college students - looks good on a resume - thats about it.

Cons

- Never trust your coworkers. Its all a competition to try and get a promotion from a company that hardly promotes anyone. Depending on the branch that you work at and who you manager is, coworkers will sometimes set things up to make it look like you made a huge mistake and turn you down when you ask for proof and to see the cameras. - I can not speak for all of BMO, but at my branch they hardly followed policies. Sold between drawers, would accept elaborate gifts from customers, as well as not follow proper procedures. It got so bad that every time we were audited it was a mess. - Management does not care at all for their employees. They will still put you on 6 month probation if you are sick and unable to call in at the exact time they want to you to call in (even though you let your manager know the day before that you would not be coming in). Completely unsympathetic. - Your coworkers will constantly be picking on each other. If one of the tellers is not doing a good job, let them go! It simple. At this company, they will continue to employ people who do not know how to do their job and complain about it. - Due to the lack of professionalism with customers, expect to have some customers attempt to convert you to their Religion (and bring literature about converting to said religion). Do not expect your manager to let them know that this is soliciting and unprofessional. I understand getting to know your customers for the sake of establishing great customers service that BMO prides itself on, however I found this to be very unprofessional and while I do not blame the customer, I blame the manager for having been present when it happened and not saying word about it.

Pros

Pros: • Great coworkers who foster a supportive team environment. • Strong commitment to community engagement and involvement. • Attractive annual bonuses and competitive quarterly compensation.

Cons

Cons: • High levels of sales pressure, which can be overwhelming at times. • Concerns about management, particularly after the hiring of former Bank of America leadership; implementation of their sales culture. • Recent changes to branch names (now referred to as Financial Banking Centers) suggest a shift towards Bank of America's practices. • Many branch managers are on performance improvement plans and face pressure to meet 100% of their goals weekly, leading to a stressful work environment. • There are reports of unethical sales practices that may require regulatory attention. Overall: BMO offers a positive work atmosphere with great benefits, but the increasing sales pressure and management issues may raise concerns for potential employees.
