Pros

Blue and Red color scheme is nice, Microsoft Teams is convenient.

Cons

BMO is a very strange place to work for. Management uses gaslighting to coach employees and sales is heavily pushed. The confusing part is, people that are actually good at sales can bring a client in and the moment they do, the process breaks down as the process is not equipped to handle West Coast clientele. Also, all areas of support are met with bad attitudes and it’s confusing as to why. BMO does not have a strong product at all, process is weak so why all the bad attitudes? One way or another this will be exposed as many employees, especially legacy BOTW employees have taken notice. The mortgage division can’t even keep a division leader more than 6 months, that speaks volumes to the management model of executive leadership which is likely toxic. BMO reminds me of that one school yard kid that wants to compete with the big boys (Chase, Wells Fargo, US Bank), shows up to football practice with no equipment but still expected to perform, that’s the BMO way. Sadly I would not recommend working here until it’s fixed, you will risk your reputation as many top producing talent have already realized this and left. Save yourself and your reputation and stay far away from this subpar bank. Maybe one day it’ll get there but for now BMOs presence in the West Coast is viewed as an industry laughingstock.

Pros

Pros: • Great coworkers who foster a supportive team environment. • Strong commitment to community engagement and involvement. • Attractive annual bonuses and competitive quarterly compensation.

Cons

Cons: • High levels of sales pressure, which can be overwhelming at times. • Concerns about management, particularly after the hiring of former Bank of America leadership; implementation of their sales culture. • Recent changes to branch names (now referred to as Financial Banking Centers) suggest a shift towards Bank of America's practices. • Many branch managers are on performance improvement plans and face pressure to meet 100% of their goals weekly, leading to a stressful work environment. • There are reports of unethical sales practices that may require regulatory attention. Overall: BMO offers a positive work atmosphere with great benefits, but the increasing sales pressure and management issues may raise concerns for potential employees.
