Pros

Friendly coworkers with ok benefits LEAVE with-in 2 years

Cons

• The pay is below the industry standard • Felt like paid Slavery • Long hours • Your extra effort is never noticed. • When an issue arises it's a finger pointing game instead of trying to resolve the issue. • Minimum controls in place to pervent errors • Inadequate training ( if something doesn't go as planned luck). • Want innovation ideas but won't consider your idea because it's there way or the highway. • Outdated software (leaves too many opportunities for errors) • Management is unsure how to process some transactions and it's a guessing game sometimes. • If you want a promotion, your hard work and long hours won't do it ,be prepared to kiss some butt • Turnover is VERY HIGH from layoffs and people just leaving. (Personally knew about 23 people who left. I'm not being dramatic ) • Career Growth is limited don't listen to the dream they try to sell you.

Pros

There is real opportunity for career and skill growth. The company runs short on head count, so people willing to take on more responsibilities have avenues to progress. However, you will need to force the issue for promotions & large salary increases after you prove your capabilities. Realistically it'll take an external counteroffer to move the needle.

Cons

It's a large bank and you're a number in the system. If your NPV is positive you'll stay, else you'll be laid off. This includes both scenarios you control and those you don't. Ex. You control your performance, in office time and networking You don't control if your location is a strategic growth site, if a major client goes with a competitor, or if you'd be impacted by a general company-wide layoff plan.
