Pros

The BNY Mellon organization is moving from product silos to a more functional alignment that is improving client focus. The commitment to improve services is evident in investment in employees and key growth areas.

Cons

The transformation initiative to date has been focused on location instead of employee performance. The firm has lost many quality staff to better opportunities elsewhere my not treating staff in high cost locations equally.

Pros

Some of the internal platforms have dev teams that would rival any other tech company. Can learn a lot if you end up on one of those teams.

Cons

Completely crap shoot as to if you land on a good team or a completely incompetent one. If you're on a bad one good luck. On a bad team you can expect vague work requirements and huge work loads with unmanageable delivery timelines. Also they're outsourcing to India heavily. Also also, most senior management is completely out of touch with reality and don't understand the tech stack they own (more you interact with them the more frighteningly obvious it becomes). HR is completely incompetent, of course, it's an open secret at the bank.
