Pros

The benefits are similar to other banks.

Cons

BNY has a toxic culture of discrimination, retaliation, and pay inequity. As a female, I was paid less than my male colleague for performing the same role. When I raised the issue internally I was retaliated against. When I raised the issue externally by filing a charge of discrimination with the EEOC I was fired. My advice is to know your rights as an employee. If you want more information about the EEOC which is responsible for enforcing federal laws which make it illegal for an employer to discriminate against someone because of their race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related conditions, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability, or genetic information you should check out www.eeoc.gov If you want to read more about my experience at BNY or the experience of other former employees and clients you can go to pacer.uscourts.gov
