The benefits are really genrous they give you a lot of time off right from the start. There are numerous events on campus year round and they encorouge the staff to participate. Working in an academic environment open a lot of opportunities for exposure to people of different cultures and beliefs. My time there was an eye opening experience in which I learned a lot
Cons
Scheduling, promotional opportunities and communication to support staff is limited. Feedback can be very limited and I found that there was little recognition or opportunity outside of my department for feedback or recognition. Hour can be long and demanding while some of the staff is given flex schedules during the summer months support staff is generally excluded from this benefit
