They believe they are a full service CPA firm, but in Southfield, MI they do mostly write up and 1040's. - Anonymous employee Baker Tilly Employee Review

Pros

They do have some name recognition now so it may help boost your resume. Some good PFP practitioners and other niche services. Good for junior accountants.

Cons

The MI office was a roll up of 4 local firms. Lots of write ups, tax compliance, etc. When it comes to audit, they better have good liability insurance. Current office managing partner is worthless. Low pay compared to other top 100 firms. Mandatory Saturday hours. No come late and work late. Have to be there at a certain time and can't leave before 4pm. Way too many tax meetings. A lot of upper management turnover.

Pros

Very flexible schedule, fully remote, very nice and helpful full-time staff to guide you, learned a lot, overall a great temp job with a great firm.

Cons

I wish they allotted more time for training, which was one week. I felt like I needed an extra week. The amount of information thrown at you as a first-timer can feel overwhelming, but there are people there to guide you and very helpful self-training modules and materials. Might not be right for a person who has trouble learning on their own, as most of the training is self-administered.
