Bako offers a low base salary with 50% of compensation tied to meeting quotas. This is actually enticing for ambitious sales professionals, but they grossly overstate what top performers actually are paid in commission. The management is also consistently late in communicating quarterly quotas and establishes quarterly “Management by Objectives” which if not met to their satisfaction, gives management the ability to reduce a Rep’s earned commissions up to 10%.. These objectives are never communicated in advance of the quarter and leave Reps scrambling to pivot to meet new goals which may not even contribute to sales (in addition to trying to meet the always increasing quarterly quotas). This all makes it very challenging to execute any type of long-range sales plan.
