Pros

Clients served. Great health insurance.

Cons

Company has a great idea behind it, but missing the mark in execution. No reprimands for showing up late, you may be relieved from your shift on time or hours later. May or may not be trained on clients before hand. May or may not get med certified, depending on how busy management is they may decide it is not necessary and then you’re unable to give emergency meds or give them when staff doesn’t arrive on time. Insanely short staffed; not all upper management are willing to help cover shifts. Direct managers (directly above care staff) are over worked. Very distinct line between upper management and direct management/associates.

Pros

Continued opportunities to grow. As a non-profit it also means that these positions aren't always visible, but instead are opened as the agency grows and needs support in different ways.

Cons

Sometimes the stress of the impact we can have is a lot, not a con for Balance Autism, but a good reminder about the Human Service field. Thinking about how we support ourselves in good stress management is important, but also seeking out others (in and outside the organization) for this is support is also ideal.
