Pros

The direct support providers are dedicated and the clients are fun to work with. There is flexibility in scheduling when staffing is adequate as a member of the leadership team. There have been a lot of improvements made in the last 6 months, it does seem like management (clinic directors) are trying to make things better.

Cons

Interacting with some members of management can be challenging, scheduling of sessions is inflexible and follow through will policy is inconsistent. Your workload will be heavy and you will likely have to work hard to get training and support you need. Pay is okay, but higher rates can be found elsewhere. PTO is decent.

Pros

Continued opportunities to grow. As a non-profit it also means that these positions aren't always visible, but instead are opened as the agency grows and needs support in different ways.

Cons

Sometimes the stress of the impact we can have is a lot, not a con for Balance Autism, but a good reminder about the Human Service field. Thinking about how we support ourselves in good stress management is important, but also seeking out others (in and outside the organization) for this is support is also ideal.
