Pros

Great PTO for salaried and hourly

Cons

Senior leadership believes direct supports are paid to "sit on their butt and do nothing". Tens of thousands of dollars goes missing and nobody in leadership notices for months?? Restrictions for residents are approved by conflict of interest sources. DSP staff are told to be grateful for the pay and hours they receive yet have the hardest job in the organization. Potential to be on call for weeks at a time. Leadership is advised to sleep in the office rather than staffing adequately. 0 confidentially for disciplinary action. CEO believes exit interviews are a waste of time.

Pros

Continued opportunities to grow. As a non-profit it also means that these positions aren't always visible, but instead are opened as the agency grows and needs support in different ways.

Cons

Sometimes the stress of the impact we can have is a lot, not a con for Balance Autism, but a good reminder about the Human Service field. Thinking about how we support ourselves in good stress management is important, but also seeking out others (in and outside the organization) for this is support is also ideal.
