Pros
Helping to take care of people who needed us to live. Some older staff who really worked hard. Relationships with clients was quite good at times, other times could be described as scary or dangerous. Benefits are excellent for this area. Time off is good but then they won't let you use it. This happened to numerous coworkers and myself.
Cons
Staff that slept, staff that were prejudiced, management that was uncaring to a culture of intimidation. Rude staff, rude HR. Questions about specific assignemtns were often not answered without judgement, training not nearly enough for some houses. Some clients were quite dangerous and we were put in those houses without adequate help. Some staff slept all night. I worked with one girl who brough her own pillow and blanket! Staff on second shift was lazy and did not cook even though they were supposed too. Night supervisors often seemed concerned about checking boxes then helping staff provide better care
